Inorganic Interruptions

Espronceda, Center for Art & Culture

A real human soliloquy expounding on the hubris of man and its over-desire of power and technological singularity is interrupted by one of its own creations.

Two WS2815 LED strips, five meters each (600 RGB pixels in total), embody the voices of organic and inorganic intelligence. Their dialogue, transmitted through ArtNet via Ethernet and controlled in TouchDesigner, becomes a visual conversation between human thought and machine cognition.

The work exposes the fracture between human emotion and machine logic, and the inability for machines to empathize.
